Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2025

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Maelir, an engineering analytics platform operated by Maelir (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By creating an account or using Maelir, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing Maelir, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have the authority to bind your organisation to these Terms, and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, do not use Maelir.

2. Description of service

Maelir provides engineering analytics dashboards including DORA metrics (deployment frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate, and mean time to restore), developer activity analytics, and team performance tracking. The service integrates with third-party platforms including GitHub, Jira, and AWS.

3. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access. Maelir is not liable for losses caused by unauthorised use of your account.

Each account is associated with one organisation. You may invite team members to your organisation. You are responsible for the actions of users you invite.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Maelir for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to access data belonging to other organisations
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of Maelir
  • Use Maelir to process data in a way that violates GitHub's, Atlassian's, or any third party's terms of service
  • Resell or sublicense access to Maelir without our prior written consent

5. Third-party integrations

Maelir connects to GitHub and Jira using OAuth 2.0 on your behalf. By connecting these integrations, you confirm that you have the right to authorise Maelir to access the relevant repositories and projects. You are responsible for ensuring your use of these integrations complies with the respective platform's terms.

6. Data and privacy

Your use of Maelir is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. You retain ownership of your data. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over the content you connect to Maelir.

7. Availability and uptime

We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maelir may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for losses arising from service interruptions.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maelir and its directors, employees, and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Maelir will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without prior notice. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email. Continued use of Maelir after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
